It’s the perfect service for when you’re travelling: HRS, Europe’s leading hotel portal, now enables iPhone™ users to make bookings easily while on the road – no matter where they are. The Cologne-based company has become the world’s first hotel reservation company to develop a special program for the versatile iPhone™. The application can now be downloaded onto the device free of charge. Users of the popular Apple-brand smartphone therefore now have access to the complete range of services on HRS, including some 250,000 hotels worldwide and extensive hotel searching and booking features, all with the usual intuitive elements that iPhone™ users are accustomed to.

The HRS application was specifically designed with the characteristics of the iPhone™ in mind. The app is therefore extremely user-friendly, comfortable and easy-to-use. Compact and clear presentation of all the relevant information does away with the need for endless scrolling and the problems associated with page widths on small screens. Thanks to the new application, users no longer have to enter www.hrs.de or www.hrs.com in their iPhone Web browser, and both searching for and booking hotel accommodation has become even faster.
The central aspect of the application is the extensive search function, which trawls through the HRS database of 250,000 hotels. In so doing, useful pre-settings such as the current location and date make last-minute booking in particular far easier. Users can also individually filter the extensive selection of available hotels by setting specific parameters such as the price, the desired category and customer evaluations using a simple slide control. These settings can also be saved for future use. Just like with the online version of the HRS system, the clearly-arranged hotel search results list can be sorted according to a variety of criteria, although the default setting is by price ascending order.
Hotel details provide information about the facilities at the hotel and in the room, the available services and the accepted forms of payment. Customer evaluations, screen-size hotel photos, information about the area and map-views via Google Maps – all adapted to the dimensions and special characteristics of the iPhone™ – provide more useful decision-making tools for finding suitable accommodation.
Having booked a hotel, the user is immediately sent confirmation that can then be transferred to the calendar automatically. And by clicking on “Bookings” you can easily make any changes or cancellations that may be necessary. This is even possible for bookings that weren’t made on the iPhone™. What’s more, you can call up a complete booking history at any time. All you need do is enter the reservation number. User-friendly additional functions like the practical Hotline button – for directly contacting the HRS call centre – and a currency selector provide yet more benefits. As a result, every user has access to all of HRS’s services and can therefore benefit from the cheap, up-to-date prices available on HRS no matter where he or she happens to be.
All in all, the HRS iPhone™ app is available in a total of seven languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, and Turkish.
