International Travel and Luxury Professionals Gathered in Monte Carlo

The Monte Carlo Travel Market (MCTM) for Prestige Travel and Luxury Lifestyle exhibition took place from the 15-17 January 2010 at the international exhibition center Grimaldi Forum. During the three days of the exhibition, tourism experts and privileged visitors had the possibility to get acquainted with unique international Travel and Luxury professionals.

The topic of this specialized exhibition has become extremely popular among clients and visitors. MCTM offered visitors the possibility to collect information about the travel and luxury market of exclusive tourism services and meet their future partners from all over the world. Professionals of the industry offering luxury accommodation, spa and wellness programs, exclusive transport services (e.g. limousines, jets, yachts, cruises, etc.), as well as golf service providers and organizers of adventure tours participated in the exhibition.

Efficient meetings made it possible for travel professionals to gain prospective business contacts and to open new possibilities for their business. The exhibitor’s objectives were either to extend their business in the Cote d’Azur region, to deepen their collaboration with partners or to find new partners, which would enable the companies to expand in the market.

Since the beginning of MCTM, a main focus has been the pre-arranged appointment system, which is unique for trade fairs. It is an efficient instrument for exhibitors, buyers and clients to optimize their time and arrange meetings via the Internet.

134 companies from 28 countries took part in the MCTM 2010 exhibition. The exhibiting companies originated from countries such as Switzerland, Mexico, Italy, Mauritius, Portugal, USA, England, Croatia, Argentina, Brazil, Greece, Turkey and others. The structure of participants in percentages were as follows: Hotels, Villas, Lodges & Resorts, Spas – 55 %,Yacht Charters & Cruises – 10%, Private Aviation & Airline Companies – 4%, Exclusive Tour Organizers – Tourism offices -  5%, Real Estate & Construction Projects – 1%, Luxury Lifestyle – 25%

Several of the many exhibitors which drew in visitor’s accolades were Grand Hotel Via Venneto, ArteInMotion, Danish Yachts, Kelibia la blanche, Red Travel, Leading Hotels of the World Village, Royal Mougins Golf Resort, Ego Paris, TTTrunks, Venetian Design and Zest Monaco.

On Saturday January 16th, the MCTM held their Gala dinner at the Salle Empire in the historic Hotel de Paris. The award ceremony, lead by Vittorio Gai and the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS), presided by Joseph Cinque, with Ambassador Extraordinaire Donald Trump, has voted MCTM one of the finest Travel and Lifestyle exhibitions worldwide.

The Star Diamond Award is without doubt the most prestigious and comprehensive awards held specifically for the luxury travel and hospitality services industry. Hailed as the ‘Oscars of the industry’, the awards have built their reputation and stature since their inception.
