Russian businessmen God Nisanov and Zakhar Iliyev, who already own two hotels in Moscow, plan to build three more hotels in the city, Kommersant business daily reported Monday citing one of developers.
The businessmen plan to invest over U.S. $1 billion in the project, the daily said.
This year, they plan to start building a five-star hotel on Ukrainsky Boulevard, which will be managed by Four Seasons. The other two hotels will be three-star and will be built near the Yugo-Zapadnaya and Voikovskaya metro stations. They will be managed by Rezidor Hotel Group, which owns the Radisson and Park Inn brands.
Nadezhda Spiridonova, press secretary of the businessmen, confirmed their plans to invest in Moscow’s hotel sector, but declined to provide any details.
At present, Nisanov and Iliyev already own two hotels, which are managed by Rezidor, in Moscow. These are the Radisson Royal Hotel Moscow, previously known as Ukraina, whose opening after its reconstruction is planned for the end of April, and the Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya, which is expected to close for reconstruction by the end of this year.
